SOLE is designed to achieve the aims and objectives of Health and Physical Education agenda of the Central Board of Secondary Education. Adventure sports are great means of ensuring total health of participants, apart from building many life skills in the process and are universally acknowledged to play very important role in developing positive leaders. On SOLE Program courses, you will learn the core curriculum, which extensively covers adventure sports, activities and skills, leadership and teamwork, environmental studies, and risk management. Exposure and mastery of more specific adventure skills will depend on the SOLE level, ranging from rafting, and paragliding to mountaineering.
Our hands on, learn-by-doing approach means SOLE Program graduates get the skills they need to be competent, responsible wilderness travelers and explorers long after their course is over. What SOLE Program teaches cannot be learned in a classroom or on a city street; the wilderness provides the ideal setting to practice outdoor skills and develop leadership.
To progressively challenge students to raise the bar of own performance and standards and (based on level of proficiency acquired) to shift activity planning and conduct responsibility from instructor to participant, SOLE is designed at three levels: Basic, Intermediate and Advanced. To build more measurable benchmarks, each SOLE level further has with in it two stages – 1 and 2.
There is growing realization that adventure based experiences kindle the enthusiasm of the young; to develop their concern for others, for their community and for the environment. Such experiences provide the means of self-discovery, self-expression and enjoyment which are at once both stimulating and fulfilling.
We at the OLS strive to do just that. To teach children beyond the margins of books and classrooms by indulging them in outbound interactive sessions. It is a neurological fact that our creativity increases by as much as 50% when indulging at something we find naturally beautiful. And so, we firmly believe that an ever absorbing mind, that of a child’s when looks upon a mountain or hears the melody of a stream, gazes at the stars above and sees a flower bloom are some foundational sensations often missing in an urban environment.
The program has been designed to engage both the ‘cognitive’ as well as the ‘feeling’ facet of their personality, wherein students are given every opportunity to Explore, Experience and Exclaim.
OLC is best suited for outdoor enthusiasts and professionals working in outdoor based organizations / adventure camps. This course is a professional step for those aspiring to work in the field of Adventure Tourism and Outdoor based businesses.
